Post Petrochemical Series 2017 – ongoing

The whole Post Petrochemical Series is concerned with temporality (of painting) and this reference to scientific units of time somehow connects it to geology and radiation (material decay). Also a nod to the art market/value – what is ‘life expectancy’ of a painting?
Post-petrochemical series Yelena began in 2017 during a residency at Girton College, Cambridge, where she worked with gathered materials and natural pigments for the first time.
Cumbria is currently first on the list of locations for U.K.’s geological high level nuclear waste depository.
