Particolare Particolare

From September 11 to 15, 2024, Vienna’s Kursalon will host Particolarea curated contemporary art salon presenting a selection of artworks and performances. The program constitutes a bold exploration and a multifaceted look at temporality and movement through the creations of contemporary artists and performers.

The aim of Particolare is to create a unique, yet deeply rooted within the history of exhibitions, a new platform which brings people together to exchange ideas, experience and collect contemporary art in a very special setting which differs from the ones we are familiar with. Our inspiration in terms of format is the art salons from the turn of the 20th century. We have been building on this concept by putting together artworks that may appear unrelated, but yet talking to each other, staging performances of unique classic avant garde music scores, as well as incorporating lectures by prominent thinkers, artists and cultural workers: Our goal is to bring together and create new audiences for art and culture in a great city like Vienna. STEPHAN STOYANOV Artistic Advisor, Particolare

To explore a diverse collection of 50+ artworks, join us at Particolare between September 11th and 15th.

THE AI MEDIATION EXPERIENCE

Particolare has teamed up with the Paris-based artist collective U2P050 known for their work with AI technologies in and around the exhibition space.

The mediation will be elaborated by AI agents in conversation with the audience – introducing a new form of participation and spectatorship, but also questioning the role of the curator.

The Venue

Kursalon (Kursalon Hübner) is a music hall in Vienna designed by Johann Garben in the style of the Italian Renaissance and built between 1865 and 1867.

This famous music hall has during the last decade been used as a distinctive venue for art and culture programs including concerts, conferences, and art fairs, and now, Particolare – which will be the last project and event at the Salon before it closes its doors.
