Saâdane Afif

Lives and works in Berlin. His interdisciplinary works play with elements of art history, music and poetry, which are developed in long processes in a variety of media (performance, objects, sculptures, text, posters and neons). The transference between different authors and modes of expressions is a crucial part of his work while his oeuvre takes its cue from conceptional and appropriation art. Afif received the Marcel Duchamp Prize in 2009. In 2020, he was appointed Convener of the 2022 “Bergen Assembly” Triennial.
