The First Dance & The Final Walz, 2024

New composition commissioned by Particolare.

In 2019, a significant collection of over 300 traditional melodies from the 19th and early 20th centuries was uncovered in the archives of the Cantonal Library in Lausanne, Switzerland. These melodies, which had remained unperformed for over a century, offer a valuable insight into the region’s musical heritage. Among these archival findings is a waltz titled “Valse la Princesse.” This particular melody has been selected and reinterpreted in the composition titled “The First Dance & The Final Walz” The piece represents a fusion of historical musical elements with contemporary creative expression, contributing to the revival and appreciation of long-forgotten traditions.
