23 Juli 2024From 11–15 September, 2024, the Kursalon in Vienna will host an original art fair presenting selected works in an institutional setting.
Particolare offers a bold and multifaceted approach for art enthusiasts and collectors, presenting a plural view of time and motion through the diverse creations of contemporary artists.
What kind of time are we talking about? Mechanical, linear time – quantifiable with measurement instruments? Or quantum, malleable time – characterized by relativity and the absence of any kind of linearity? In fact, we mean both: At Particolare, clock time meets artist time, creating a rich dialogue between measurement and creation. And movement becomes the common thread running through a deeply immersive artistic experience.
Particolare invites us to rethink our own relationship with time and movement, and to explore the infinite possibilities that contemporary art offers in our quest to understand the world around us.
From Michelangelo Pistoletto and Rafael Canogar to Wim Delvoye and Lena Jakob Knebl, over 30 projects will guide us in this journey.
Particolare is commissioned for Culttech, an association based in Vienna which uses new technologies to develop a new approach to culture. In Austria, it collaborates with Klangforum Wien and festivals such as the Salzburger Festspiele and Ars Electronica. More recently, Culttech was invited to VivaTech Paris. It will be hosting the Culttech Summit on November 5th and 6th in Vienna, and will take part in the Voices Performing Arts Festival in Berlin that same month.
Particolare differs from a classic art fair in that it showcases richly interrelated works through a selection process supported by the galleries invited to take part. Culttech CEO Marc Brandsma explains, „Of course, we have partners who advise us and are part of this daring journey. They are
experts in the institutional and commercial world who contribute to creating a unique exhibition and show format. Our artistic and organizing committee consists of professionals from diverse
backgrounds, such as Marc Olivier Wahler, Stephan Stoyanov, Thomas Hug, Viktoria Kondrashova and Eda Ozdoyuran“.
This new project creatively connects the founding platforms Vienna Contemporary and Curated by, and contributes to Vienna‘s artistic influence, both institutional and commercial, during the European cultural season in September.
Particolare offers a series of events, with a variety of performances and dialogic formats integrating artistic and discursive perspectives. The full program will be published during this summer.
